2017-18
During the 2017 - 2018 significant and numerous challenges due to several students’ crisis situations resulted in a year long collaborative process between Trinity County Office of Education, the Trinity Alps and Mountain Valley Unified School Districts, and
other county superintendents to look into ways to support our most vulnerable students. Through the collaborative it was determined that in order to provide resources and support systems to help with these students and situations a trauma sensitive school would help our two largest high schools support their students.
The result is R.I.S.E. Academy, a trauma sensitive learning environment, that supports the health and well-being of all youth, including those affected by traumatic experiences.
